ABSTRACT

Cultural Transformation Using the Cleveland Clinic Improvement Model

The Neurological Institute at the Cleveland Clinic has become a leader in implementing the Enterprise’s model of Continuous Improvement (CCIM - Cleveland Clinic Improvement Model). Through the implementation of Kaizen Huddles, OKRs and Value Stream Mapping across all 16 of its Neuro Centers, the NI has seen increased revenues, documented efficiencies and cultural benefits that continue to allow the NI to grow and surpass organizational financial and market growth. As the NI continues to implement and spread Continuous Improvement, the Institute is realizing a goal of over $30,000 per Center ROI. The session will share the strategies, tools and techniques implemented across the Centers that continue to be the "way we do business." We will share various project examples and mock huddles that reenact the daily activities our Caregivers in the NI experience on a daily basis. Participants will be challenged to compare their continuous improvement efforts with those proven methodologies utilized by NI Leaders that have made the NI at Cleveland Clinic one of the best in the country. Through additional hands-on activities and discussions, participants will leave with the framework to begin their journey to building a Culture of Continuous Improvement with strategies to implement Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques. There will also be a time of Q&A for knowledge and experience sharing for all of those participating in the session.
